Understanding Trauma

Why is it Important?

The word TRAUMA literally means "wound". We all have wounds gathered along our lives, from big gaping wounds, to little tiny papercut wounds. From the moment you began to divide as a tiny cell structure, information from your environment was being stored in those cells, affecting which of your genes are turned on or off, how happy you are, how your brain is formed, how you make decisions. This process of epigenetics affects you every waking moment of everyday.

The famous 1998 Fellitti et al.; study on Adverse Childhood Experiences showed there is more chronic and autoimmune disease in people who have multiple traumas when young.

Researchers looking at EEGs done on babies at 6mo could tell which babies had depressed mothers, based on the differences in the babies brain structures. IT MATTERS!

How babies are conceived, grown, birthed, and parented....all of that matters.

And yet, how YOU choose to respond to the wounds is the biggest factor for changing your story.  It is an individual choice how to respond to the wounds that happen to us.

Hypnotherapy has been shown to be effective in shifting out the traumas gathered in our cellular bodies.

When you understand the WHY, and have someone help you with the HOW, you can REWRITE your story.
