KATE JOBSON
Nice to meet you
Kate Jobson has over 30 years of experience accompanying women through their pregnancies,
births, and into their postpartum journeys. Introduced to Nurse Midwifery while working with civil war refugees in El Salvador, and experiencing first hand the dearth of adequate resources, I resolved to earn a midwifery degree and return to work with women in Latin America.
After earning a Bachelor in Nursing, I worked in a variety of labor and delivery units while finishing a Master of
Science in Nursing and Certified Nurse Midwife title from the University of New Mexico in 1995. I spent time practicing in New Mexico and Kansas before settling with my family in Alberta in 2002.
My full scope midwifery practice in Southern Alberta included hospital and home birth. Walking with families truly feeds my soul. I am convinced previous trauma affects the birth experience, has a profound impact on risk of postpartum depression, which affects parenting, marriage relationships, and how the next generation of brains are formed.
In 2018 I was certified in Clinical Hypnotherapy through the Hypnotherapy Academy
of America. Later I added certification in The Brain Story offered through Alberta Family
Wellness and have done continuing education in Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) – a well documented
wellness tool.
I look forward to working with you.
